In 1996 an international non government organisation, Craftlink is not just a sales outlet for artisans products Craftlink offers a 2+ year training program to artisan groups all over Vietnam. Supporting them to develop skills in their craft and the business skills to be a sustainable business person with all the bookkeeping and costing, quality control, marketing etc.
Craftlink helps a wide range artisans with products including:
Fashion Items: clothes, scarves, handbags, wallets, jewelry and shoes
Home Decor: Lacquer, bamboo, horn, silver, ceramics, textiles, lamps, lanterns and water puppets.
How YOU can support Craftlink
The best way to support Craftlink is to go to their store at 43-51 Van Mieu, Hanoi.
The good thing is it just across the road from the Temple of Literature and just a short walk to Koto cafe.
There all the beautiful handcrafted products from around the country
are showcased in 2 lovely stores, products of clothing, scarves,
handbags and various home decor items are available.
Craftlink is a good place buy gifts at the store and at craft fairs
such a HIWC *Hanoi International Women’s Club event luncheons and
Plus when family and friends come to visit it is a good place to
put on your itinerary which directly supports the producer.
Volunteers are often called for to help to sell products at events
plus other assistance at various times. Put your hand up and make
a tremendous difference directly to someone in Vietnam.
As a buyer for an overseas retail outlet, the high quality handmade,
hand crafted, authentic items could maybe fit into a special range
that supports these artisans as a fantastic CSR project.
